Lillian Canter Childers,

Lillian Wike Canter Childers, age 80, of Taylorsville passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Valley Nursing Center. Born March 13, 1933 to the late David Crowson and Ida Frances Wike. Earlier in her life, Lillian had worked for Alexvale Furniture as a sewer for a number of years. She was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church and love to go and help out at the Christian Crisis Center.  Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister - Clara Hensley and brothers - Darrell, James and Kenneth Wike. Those left to cherish her memory include her children - Brenda Bruce, Bobbi Pennell and Danny Canter; sisters - Kathy Gant and Carol Jenkins; brothers - Jerry, Roger and Gene Wike; grandchildren - Tina Ligon, Tammi Maury, Tersi White, Brian Pennell, Jessica Pennell, Dana Gustin, Sarah Payne, Tyler Gibson and Molly Johnson; great grandchildren - Jarod Ligon, Rachel White, Caden Pennell and Brandon Gustin and 29 nieces and nephews.
A graveside committal service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Rocky Face Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Dula officiating.
