Linda Auton Dagenhart left this world surrounded by her family to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 17th, 2024. Linda fought a courageous battle for 25+ years from injuries sustained in an automobile accident that left her permanently disabled. She was born in Alexander County on December 20th, 1952, to the late Lee Walter and Lettie Edna Auton. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Prior to the accident, Linda spent most of her life working as a Beautician. When she was a young girl, that was something she always enjoyed with her family and friends. In her late teens, she drove a school bus for Alexander County and worked as a waitress for Tiny Diner. Later on, working for Southern Device until she added sewing to her list for Broyhill Furniture. She also enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes as well as some outfits for her daughters when they were children. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and later enjoyed being a part of the Women’s Sunday School class that she loved and cherished as did being at church. Salvation of her family and those around her was an important part of her life. She was always ready to go to church until she was no longer able to attend. Spending time with all her family was the highlight of her life. Especially her husband, two daughters, three grandchildren, and those all around her that she adored. She embraced those around her and made everyone feel at home as everyone knew they could talk to or visit with “Momma Linda”. Momma Linda was always praying for someone and loved to send out cards of prayer, love, and encouragement until she was no longer able.
