Linda Sue Shook,

Linda Sue Shook, age 73, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Valley Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Garland and Vada Icenhour Smith. Mrs. Shook was born on August 16, 1942 in Alexander County. She was a member of All Healing Springs Church in Hickory. She loved traveling, spending time with her family, was a wonderful wife, and enjoyed spending time with her woman's best friend, Mitzi.

In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by four sisters; Marcelene Smith Icenhour, Velma Smith Meadows, Lillie Smith George, Juanita Smith Wiles, one brother Arthur Smith, and son Stewart Bolick.

She leaves to cherish her memory husband of 20 years, Tommy W. Shook, one daughter Tammie Little & husband Tim of Conover, three sons; Ashley Bolick of Bethlehem, Todd Shook & wife Amy of Anderson, SC, Thad Shook & wife Angie of Hickory, five grandchildren; Jackie Little, Morgan Shook, Emily Shook, Dylan Shook, Madison Shook, one sister Lois Mitchell of Taylorsville, special nieces; Sandra Jolly & Connie Stillwell.

Visitation is 1:00-2:30 pm Monday, January 25, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Service with the funeral following at 2:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Sammy Kiser and Rev. Brad Spencer will be officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt. Pisgah Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include; Terry Meadows, Cuffey Icenhour, Garland Ramsey, James George, Anthony George, and Aaron Jolly.
