Lizzie Edwards Bentley,

Lizzie Edwards Bentley, age 83, a resident of the Taylorsville House, passed away on Thursday, December 13 at Catawba Valley Hospice. She was born in Alexander County on September 24, 1929 to the late Noah Parks and Sarah Auton Davidson and was of the Baptist faith. Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Buddy Bentley; son, James Jr. Bentley; daughter, Lula Diane Clanton; grandson, Bruce Lee Bentley; step-son, Cleve Bentley; step-daughter, Lou Jennings; two brothers, Tommy and Lindsey Davidson and one granddaughter, Crystal Cunningham. Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons - Lester Bentley (Ruby), of Taylorsville and Andrew and Jerry Bentley, of Wilkesboro; step children - Rose Johnson (Ron), Robin Johnson, all of Taylorsville and Carlene Fuller, of Wisconsin; daughter-in-law - Sally Bentley, of Taylorsville; sisters - Merdie Warren and Hazel Brown, of Taylorsville; brothers - Llyod Davidson, of Taylorsville and Michael Davidson, of Texas; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. Service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Alexander Funeral Service with Rev. Tony Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at the Kerley Town Cemetery in Taylorsville.
