Lloyd "Kenneth" Frye, age 84, of Taylorsville passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at his residence. Born in Alexander County on May 4, 1929 to the late Alvin Ray and Willie Lee Frye. He was a member of Friendship Lutheran Church and had worked for the Alexander County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff. Lloyd was also the owner/operator of Frye's Service Station. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and playing cards. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Pauline Bowman Frye and son: K. Lee Frye. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter: Ruth Dial; granddaughters: Lori McDonald and Lisa Hubbard and husband Chris; great-grandchildren: Brandon and Dylan McDonald and Kensley and Mason Hubbard; brothers: Glenn Frye and wife JoAnn and Gary Frye and wife Patsy; sisters: Mildred Weaver, Jolene Fox, Lorette Starnes and Carlene Huffman and husband Connelly; a number of nieces and nephews; and caregivers: Kim and the late Freddie Hall and Phyllis Homesley.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Friendship Lutheran Church. Service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Friendship Lutheran Church with Rev. Phil Thorsen officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Community cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Buddy Swanner, Kevin Weaver, Byron Frye, Terry Bowman, Bradley Frye and Hayden Bentley. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Honor Guard - Sheriff's Department. In addition to flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation at 322 8th Ave, 7th Floor; New York, NY 1001.
