Loyd Crowson Keever, age 99, of Taylorsville, passed away at Valley Nursing Center on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. He was born on March 14, 1916 to the late J. Gualt and Cora Warren Keever. Loyd was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. He loved gardening and was a master carpenter. Loyd was a veteran of the US Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife June Bertha Bumgarner Keever, a son Gale Keever, a grandson Chad Keever, two brothers Glen & Garland Keever, and a sister Quillen Keever.
He leaves to carry on his legacy one daughter Kathy Elder and husband Gary, one son Gary Keever, four grandchildren Roger Keever and wife Patricia all of Taylorsville, Ryan Elder of Columbia, SC, Jatana Elder, Ashley Wike both of Taylorsville, five great grandchildren Benjamin, Nathan, Elizebeth, Jasmine Keever, & Cole Carson, three sisters Annie Peacock of Statesville, Cleeda Sloop and husband Ray of Wilkesboro, Fairy Stallings and husband Joe of Statesville, and a number of nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Liberty United Methodist Church at 11:00 am with the Rev. Gary W. Jennings and Rev. Roger Keever. Military rights will be provided by DAV chapter 84 and 6 of Hudson. The family requests that in addition to flowers memorials be made to Hospice of Alexander County, 50 Lucy Echerd Ln, Taylorsville, NC 28681
