Lucille Irene Hafer Icenhour

Lucille Irene Hafer Icenhour, age 94, of Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at Taylorsville House. Born on Nov. 20, 1921, in Alexander county to the late Homer and Carrie Stafford Hafer, she was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, LC Icenhour, daughters, Linda Reitzel, Betty Rector and brother Johnny Hafer, with a sister, Gertrude Fox, along with half sisters, Cecil Hafer, Suma Hines and Arveta Beaver.She is survived by her daughters, Kay Smith and husband Johnny and Marcella Icenhour and friend, Dallard Lail all of Taylorsville. One son in law, Allen Reitzel. Grandchildren include, Lisa James, Todd Smith, Sharrie Summerlin, Tina Armstrong, Tonya Wagoner, Sonya Martin, all of Taylorsville and Ricky and Eric Rector both of Hickory. 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Two sisters survive, Mable Lafone and husband Melvin of Hickory and Glenda Kanupp and husband Gene of Conover.

Visitation will be held Monday evening, Nov. 14, 2016 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Friendship Lutheran Church Family Life Center and funeral services will be on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Friendship Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastors Carol and Greg Yeager will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
