Lynn "Pee Wee" Smith

Lynn “Pee Wee” Smith, age 56, of Hiddenite passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born on October 16, 1962, the son of the late Thomas Richard Smith, Sr. & Martha “Jean” Hines Smith. Pee Wee was a carpenter by trade and was employed with Cody Smith Construction Company. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed going to the cattle sales and flea markets. Pee Wee also enjoyed tinkering with his old Dodge truck and talking & joking with family and friends. Along with parents, he is preceded in death by an infant brother Jeffrey Lewis Smith; two sisters Margaret Jean Smith & Betty Jo Smith Holder; and also three of his favorite fur companions “Wimpie,” “Jack,” and “Sparky.”

Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers Thomas “Tommy” Richard Smith, Jr. & wife Becky, Jerry Lee Smith, Johnny Cecil Smith & wife Beverly, Jimmy Roger Smith; and Joseph Craig Smith; sisters Helen Smith Sipe and Wanda “Lucy” Smith; special uncle Walter Lee “Sonny” Hines & wife Orene “Reenie”; along with a numerous number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; lifelong friend Clyde Herman; and his beloved dogs, “Pretty Girl” and “Buddy,” who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. A memorial service to celebrate his life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
