Mabel St. Clair,

d. April 18, 2013

Mabel Louise Lowe St.Clair, age 85, of Taylorsville passed away Wednesday, April 17 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born November 8, 1927, the daughter of the late William Rosevelt and Blanch Deal Lowe. She was retired from Carolina Glove. Mabel was known as a hard worker and with seven children to rear, her faithfulness to the Lord was seen in her late night prayers, resulting in never a complaint, though worldly goods were in short supply. Always seeming to be working in the garden or orchard, putting up honey or canning, she could be found growing tomatoes or grading apples. She potted and planted flowers to brighten everything up and bringing them in for the long cold winter. Mabel is preceded in death by her husband - Glade McKinley St. Clair; sons - Lewis Dale and Danny Ray St. Clair and sister - Wanda Lowe. Those left to cherish her memory are her children - Steve McKinley (Wanda) St. Clair, William Roby St. Clair, Tony Curtis (Mary) St.Clair, Kathy St. Clair (Stan) Thomas, and Todd Leon (Diane) St. Clair; brothers - J.C. (Lola) Lowe and Wayne Lowe and the late Glenda Lowe; sisters - Joyce St. Clair, Rowena Hubbard and Margery Hubbard; grandchildren - Anthony (Shelia) St. Clair, Candace (Jason) Payne, Dale (Amanda) Lowe, Denise (Jonathan) Foster; Paul Thomas, Mickey St. Clair and Austin St. Clair; great grandchildren - Shay St. Clair, Garren Smith, J.W. Payne, Jacy Payne, McKinley Payne, Chase Byers, Branson Lowe and Virginia Foster; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
