Magdalene Jolly Johnson,

Magdalene Jolly Johnson, age 90, of Taylorsville, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Valley Nursing Center. She was born to the late Lloyd  and Melzie Dyson Jolly on Monday, April 13, 1925 in Alexander County. Maggie was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church and formerly of First Baptist Church, where she was a training union leader and Sunday School Teacher. She loved crocheting and reading about religion & history.

In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her husband Aaron Johnson, son Barry Johnson, sister Euzella Matlock, and half brother Willis Barnes.

Maggie leaves to cherish her memory, one son Lynn Johnson and wife Glenda, of Virginia Beach, VA, daughter in-law Martha Johnson, of Taylorsville; a sister Juanita Johnson; grandchildren; Hannah Nance, Maria Weatherman, Leah Lindquist, Christy Chattleton, Wesley Johnson; four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Visitation will be Monday, July 20, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Service from 11:00 am til 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 12:00 noon, with the Rev. Jamie Steele officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt. Herman Baptist Church Cemetery.
