Major Jackie Wilson, age 67 of Taylorsville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011. Born on August 27, 1944 to the late Major Thomas and Pearl (Morrow) Wilson, he was of the Baptist faith and had been a supervisor in the Textile industry. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, and the love of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his parents, those who have preceded him in death are his wife of 33 years, Louise (Ballard) Wilson. One brother Bob Wilson, three sisters: Pansy Woody, Helen Forrester, and Della Kate Shook; as well as two infant siblings. Survivors include one daughter: Cindy Brigman and husband, Dan of Franklin, NC. Four grandchildren: Dylan, Evan, Landon, and Emily Brigman of Franklin; three sisters: Lorlee Hughes of Meritta, SC; Naydean Ward of Weaverville, NC, and Jo Bowlin and husband Ken of Clinton, TN, and one brother Bruce Wilson of Asheville, NC. He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews as well as special friends: Tracy and Gary Sigmon, Mimi and Ken White of Taylorsville, and Mickey Davis of Wilkesboro. Jack desired for others to benefit from his death and in keeping with his wishes, his body has been donated to Duke University Medical Center for medical research.
