Mamie Presnell Blackwelder,

Mamie Presnell Blackwelder, age 92 of GraniteFalls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 7, 2011 at ValleyNursingCenterin Taylorsville.  She was born on January 17, 1919 to the late Daniel Wesley Presnell and Martha Roxanne Cleur Presnell.  She had been a loving, caring homemaker and a lifelong member of TempleHillBaptistChurchwhere she had served in many capacities over her life.  She is survived by one son, Danny Blackwelder; 1 grandchild Nathan Allen Pennell; 7 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Augusta Blackwelder, 1 daughter Judy Lyn Blackwelder Pennell, 2 stepsons Darrell and Charles Blackwelder, 1 step-daughter Catherine B. Duffey; as well as 10 brothers and sisters.  Visitation for Mrs. Blackwelder will be held at TempleHillBaptistChurchon Thursday, June 9 from 2:00 – 3:00pm, with the Funeral Services to follow at 3:00pm.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Darrell Hatchell officiating.  Pallbearers will be Sherman Shinn, Kenny Shinn, Max Presnell, Wesley Presnell, Eddie Presnell, and Dennis Pennell.  Memorials may be made to Temple Hill Baptist Church Building Fund @ 4400 Temple Hill Church Road, Granite Fall, NC  28630.  Arrangements entrusted to Alexander Funeral & Cremation Service.
