Marcia Elizabeth Byrd Medlin

Marcia Medlin, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandkids, cheering for them at sporting events and encouraging them with school. She was a dedicated teacher at Dudley Shoals Elementary for 20 years where she instilled a love of reading in many children.

Those left to cherish her memories include her devoted husband, Ron; her daughter Julia High (Bradley); her son Ben Medlin (Megan); her grandchildren Brendan High, Merit Medlin, Bryson High, Archer Medlin, Patton Medlin, and Hank Medlin; her brother Larry Byrd (Carolyn); her brother-in-law Jerry Murphy; and nephews Tom Byrd (Tonya), Justin Byrd, and Wesley Murphy (Chanae).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Glenn and Mary Lou Byrd and her sister, Alicia Murphy.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at East Taylorsville Baptist Church from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. The memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at East Taylorsville Baptist Church at 11:00 am. Rev. Kevin White will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.
