Margaret Adeline Harrington, age 86, of Taylorsville, passed away in Valley Nursing on February 24, 2017. Born to the late Clarence Andrew and Lacy Anderson Kerley in Wilkes County on May 14, 1930, she was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clarence Kerley Jr. and brother, James H. Kerley and one sister, Shirley K. Campbell. Margaret was employed at Southern Devices and well known from Town and Country Drug. She enjoyed her flowers and the beach, as well as being an avid reader. She loved cooking and especially playing with the grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Tillet "Gerald" Harringtion, of the home, along with two daughters, Donna Tisi, of Taylorsville, Gloria Chester and husband James of Hickory. Mrs. Harrington will be remembered by one son, Dennis Harrington, of Taylorsville. Five grandchildren survive, Stacy, Isreal, Chris, Julie and Scarlet, and five great-grandchildren, Sage, Gracie, Hallie, Skylar, and Mcartney. Two sisters will cherish her: Mabel Martin and Francis Douglas, both of Taylorsville. There are several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, on Sunday, February 26, from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm with funeral services at the church at 3:30 pm. Pastor Ray Olendoff, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the building fund of Salem Lutheran Church, 4005 NC Hwy. 16 N, Taylorsville, NC 28681, and/or Hospice of Catawba County, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658.
