Margaret “Lucille” Mays Chapman, age 86, of Taylorsville, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in Westwood Hills Nursing and RehabilitationCenterin Wilkesboro. Born in AlexanderCountyon January 11, 1925 to the late Ralph William and Goldie Teague Mays, she had been a fabric sewer in the Textiles Industry as well as a member of LiledounBaptistChurch. Besides her parents, Mrs. Chapman is preceded in death by husband Kremer Chapman; three brothers: Conley, Frank, and Lynn Mays, and two sisters Helen Elder and Martha Warren, as well as two infant sisters. Those remaining to honor and cherish her memories are one son, Dale Chapman and wife, Rita; One daughter, Kathryn C. Chapman and husband Steve. Two brothers: Arthur and Lewis Mays. Three grandchildren: Cheryl Wike, Dana Huffman and Husband Robbie, Cory Chapman and wife Danielle. Two step-grandchildren: Melanie Sebastian, and Jim Sabastian and wife Julie. Six great-grandchildren: Dalton Wike, Luke, Adam, and Jacob Huffman, Jaden, Nathlie, and Evan Chapman. Three step-great grandchildren: Montana Webb, Bridgette, and Wyatt Sabastian, and her best friend Alice Brown; as well as a host of nephews and nieces. Pall bearers will be Terry Mays, Tim Mays, Michael Mays, Michael Elder, Kyle McNeeley, and Ray Walker. Visitation for Mrs. Chapman will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at LiledounBaptistChurchfrom 2:00 – 3:30pm, with the Funeral Service to begin at 3:30pm. Rev. Gary Jennings, and Rev. James Lockee will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
