Margaret "Margie" Pennell,

Margaret "Margie" Pennell, age 86, of Taylorsville, reached her eternal home Friday, December 14 at Valley Nursing Center. "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." She was born on February 24, 1926 to the late Finley and Della Barnette Pennell. She was a member of Oxford Memorial Baptist Church. Margie was a homemaker and enjoyed reading her bible, sewing, gardening and loving on her family. Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kelly William Pennell; a son, Steve William Pennell; a grandson, Christopher Derrick White; numerous sisters and a brother. She will be awaiting the arrival of her children - Larry Pennell and wife JoAnn, of Taylorsville; Shirley "Jeanne" Whitmire and husband Bill, of Newton; Wanda Bentley and husband Tony, of Taylorsville; Barbara Pennell, of Taylorsville; Janet Royall and husband Richard, of Wilkesboro; Rita Barnes and husband Jeffrey, of Taylorsville; and a daughter in law (the wife of the late Steve Pennell) Barbara Petrea Pennell, of Lenoir. She also has 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm at Oxford Memorial Baptist Church and Service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Neil Walker and Rev. Grady Blakley officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Memorial Baptist Cemetery. Flowers are accepted, however donations may be made to the Bloom Ladies of Oxford Memorial Baptist Church at 2850 Old NC 90; Taylorsville, NC 28681.
