Margaret Elder Baity,

Margaret Rose Elder Baity, 74, of Taylorsville passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Valley Nursing Center. Born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia on March 22, 1938 to the late Howard W. and Nell Dagenhart Elder. For over 30 years she worked for The Rock-Tenn Company in Taylorsville and was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church. Margaret loved flowers, gardening, quilting and making homemade apple pies. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Paul W. Elder and an infant daughter, Kathy Renee Baity. Those left to cherish her memory include her son - Keith "Delon" Baity and wife Pam; granddaughter - Amber Baity and fiancee Cole Fulton, all of Hiddenite; two brothers - Robert H. Elder and wife Wanda, and Steve Elder; two sisters - Lois Jolly and husband Junior, and Joyce Settlemeyer and husband Gary; and one sister-in-law - Judy Elder, all of Taylorsville.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm at East Taylorsville Baptist Church and service will follow at 3:30 pm with the Rev. Jeff Webb, Rev. Jamie Steele and Rev. Gary Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylorsville City Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Jeff Settlemeyer, Tim Jolly, Mark Elder, Andy Barnes, Rob Elder, Ricky Elder, Randy Elder and Robert Thompson.
