Marie Sherrill Johnson

Marie Sherrill Johnson, age 84, of Stony Point, passed away on October 4, 2016 at her residence. Marie was born in Alexander County on July 30, 1932 to the late Roy Lee and Ila Estelle Moose Sherrill. She attended Elk Shoal Presbyterian Church. Marie enjoyed cooking and was known for her "homemade" biscuits. She loved her family especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Johnson Sr., a daughter, Lori Johnson, brothers: Harold, Kenneth, Roy, Tom, & Renn Sherrill; sisters: Nell Sherrill, Grace Johnson, Margaret Pope, Winfred Sherrill, and Christine Honeycutt.
Marie leaves to cherish her memory sons: Steve Johnson & wife Lisa and John Johnson; daughers: Beth Harrison & husband Charlie and Sandy Smith & husband Frank; grandchildren: Matt Johnson, Kerri Harrison, Chrystal Johnson, and Trae Johnson, great grandchildren: Alexis, Hunter, & Jade Johnson, Luke Gryder, Athena and Averie Johnson, and Lily Ann Gryder; sister, Dorothy Martin, and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends. Visitation will be Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Service from 2:30-3:30 pm. The funeral will follow at 3:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in the Marvin United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family requests in addition to flowers that memorials be made to Hospice of Alexander County, 50 Lucy Echerd Ln, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
