Marie "Rita" Annette Spicer Picha, 72 of Taylorsville died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Caldwell County. She was born to the late Bernard Lee and Anna Mae Reynolds Spicer on May 20, 1942 in Richmond, VA. Marie attended Grace Baptist Church in bethlehem. She was a avid shopper, loved dancing and going to concerts.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Bernard Lee Spicer Jr., two sisters Kathleen Allard, JoAnne Gibson, and a brother in-law William "Bill" Weade.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years James Carl Picha, one daughter Rhonda Holman and husband Donnie of Taylorsville, one son James "Chris" Picha of Fort Mill, one granddaughter Rebecca Starnes and husband Michael of Granite Falls, one sister Joyce Brizendine of Jamaica, VA, mother in-law Glenys Picha of Chesterfield, VA, a number of nieces and nephews and her fur baby Roxanne.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church from 2:30-4:00 pm with the service following at 4 pm. The Rev. Marcus Benfield will be officiating. Burial will take place at in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard Street
