Mark Andrew Deaton, age 64, born on Monday, April 18, 1960, in Iredell County, left a profound impact on all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Mark passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Mark will always be remembered for his love of family, particularly his adoration for his grandchildren. His heart brimmed with affection for them, and he found immense joy in their presence. Additionally, Mark held a special place in his heart for animals, especially for cats. A true "people person," Mark never encountered a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others, making everyone feel welcomed and valued in his presence. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. Mark had a diverse range of interests that brought him happiness throughout his life. From farming to enjoying the outdoors, engaging in various activities like piddling and coon hunting, he found contentment in the simple pleasures of life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Harris Deaton and Merle Davis Deaton, and the mother of his children Kimberly Nantz Deaton.

Mark is survived by his daughters Samantha Jones (Kameron) and Megan Deaton (Austin Martin), as well as his grandchildren Kaiden Jones, Addie Deaton, Milen McGuire, Silas Roseman, Mayleigh Martin, and one grandchild on the way - Jude Jones. His sisters Sandy Murray (Terry), Donna Curtis (Terry), Teresa Moore (Carl), along with two special nieces Angie and Carley, and his furry friends Whiskers and Tuna.

A visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Service on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm as family and friends gather to honor and celebrate the life of this remarkable individual.

Mark's light may have dimmed here on earth, but the love he shared with those around him will continue to shine brightly in their hearts forevermore. May he rest in peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
