Mark Foster Helms,

Mark Foster Helms, age 50, of Conover passed away on Monday, June 24 at his residence. Born on August 22, 1962 to Betty Joyce Helms and the late Ray Helms. He served in the US Army and worked as a packer at Certain-Teed in Claremont for 9 years. Mark attended Sandy Ridge Baptist Church and was a Tennessee "Vols" and San Francisco football fan. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors. Along with his father he is preceded in death by his grandparents - Mr. and Mrs. Eb Foster. In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife: Judy Winebarger Helms of the home; sons: Dustin Nathanel Helms and Jospeh Daniel Helms of Bessimer City, NC; step-children: Tamarah Laws of Taylorsville and Nathan Hall of Conover; step-grandchildren: Jasmine and Savannah Laws of Taylorsville; sister: Madona and Dennis Grady of Myrtle Beach; niece: Holly Oakley of Myrtle Beach and two half-brothers: Brad and Wendy Helms of Huntersville and Bart Helms of Cornelius.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church and service will begin at 3:00 pm with the Rev. John Whaley officiating.
