Marvin Kenzer Roberts,

Marvin Kenzer Roberts, age 72, formerly of Newport News, Virginia, passed away on Wed. evening, Nov. 3, 2010, at Valley Nursing Ctr. in Taylorsville. Mr. Roberts, was born Sept. 28, 1938, in McDowell Co. W. Va. to the late Lawrence Harve and Barbara Ellen Mullins Roberts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a security guard for the Federal Government, in the ship yards at Newport News, for 36 years. Marvin was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Murlene Hurley Roberts, one sister, Ester Foster; eight brothers, Luther, Kenneth, Jessie, Lonnie, Hubert, Herbert, Delbert Roberts. He is survived by one son, Myron Roberts of Newport News, VA and one granddaughter Morgan Resneck, of Virginia Beach, VA. Two brothers, Thomas and Lathel Roberts, both of Taylorsville. One sister, Phyllis Jones of Statesville. Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, from 3-5:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church in Taylorsville, with the funeral service immediately following the visitation. Rev. Ray Isom and Rev. Randy Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in the family cemetery in WVa. at a later date. Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service is serving the Roberts family.
