Mary Ann Herman Anderson, affectionately known as Ann, passed away on March 15, 2025, in Taylorsville, North Carolina at Valley Nursing & Rehab. Born on November 10, 1947, in Alexander County, she was a beloved member of her community and cherished presence to all who knew her.
Ann dedicated a significant part of her career as a supervisor at Carolina Glove Mill for 28 years, where her professional aptitude and leadership were evident. She was known for her unwavering commitment and reliability to her colleagues and the many lives she touched. Ann also worked part time for many years at the Coffee Shoppe, Burger Basket and assisted at the Taylorsville Gas House while caring for her parents.
Beyond her professional life, Ann was a devoted member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and engaged with her faith community. She had a passion for singing in the church choir. She was admired for her generous spirit and the love she brought into the lives of those around her. Known for her kindness, she devoted herself to helping others and was always ready to lend a hand. Ann loved her family & stood beside them with unconditional love. Ann endured many physical obstacles including breaking the weight bearing bone in her leg, shoulder surgery, breast cancer and a horrible accident which resulted in a below the knee amputation. She never complained about her physical limitations. She trusted God and expressed her faith many times during tragic events that she was forced to endure. She led by example and was truly a Proverbs 31 woman.
Her hobbies included crafting, shopping and going to yard sales, pursuits that allowed her to express her creativity and share joy with others. Ann's personality shone brightly through her thoughtful gestures, and she will be remembered as a giving person who loved helping others. Ann also enjoyed cutting hair, putting in perms and doing color. She was talented in many different areas. She freely offered her services not expecting anything in return. Although she never had a lot of material wealth, Ann was always willing to share what she had.
