"Mary Carrie Barnes,

"Mary Ann" Carrie Barnes, age 63, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, December 19 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Alexander County on July 13, 1949 to the late Ronald and Ajie Mae Elder Barnes. She was a former employee of Tyson Foods in Wilkesboro, an Associate of Walmart in Taylorsville, worked at the Burger Basket and was of the Baptist faith. Mary was a avid yard seller, loved road trips to the mountains and going out to eat with her family and friends. Including her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Clanton. Those left to cherish her memory include - one daughter, Bobbie Odom, of Lenoir; one sister, Linda Baity, of Wilkesboro; three grandchildren - Carrie Barnes and special friend, Nathan Sumpter, Ronald Odom and wife Danielle and Jonathan Odom; three great grandchildren - Destiny Barnes, Carson Sumpter and Gabriel Odom; and four nieces, all of Lenoir.
To celebrate her life the family will have a Memorial Service on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service.
