Mary Foster Barlowe

Mary Margaret Foster Barlowe, age 73, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Iredell County. She was born to the late Henry Irving Foster and Reba Lancaster Foster on Thursday, February 2, 1950, in Union County, Illinois. During her working career Ms. Barlowe was a case worker for the Department of Social Services. Mary was a member of Oxford Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing puzzles, cross-stitching, watching movies, and rescuing animals. Mary liked colorful flowers and plants. She loved traveling with her friends.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Foster.

Those left to cherish the memories of Mary include her daughter, Lisa Buckhannon Dorris (Billy), son, Donald Ray Matheson (Holly), daughter, Sommer Barlowe Baucom (Tim), sister, Janet Johnson (Don), brother, Steven Foster (Sheri), sister, Susan Foster, grandchildren, Dustin Matheson (Tonya), Tanner Matheson, Brittney Matheson, Brianna Matheson, great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Mckenzie Matheson.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 10, 2023, at Oxford Baptist Church from 2:00 pm to 3:15pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 10, 2023, at 3:30 pm. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Joel Frye will officiate.
