Mary Lou Hagen Harbert

Mary Lou Hagen Harbert, age 92, born on Thursday, November 17, 1932, in Clay County, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home in Alexander County on Sunday, March 29, 2025. She was a beloved figure whose warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary Lou was devoted to her family, who were at the center of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She is survived by her loving sons, Bruce Harbert (Rosey) and Brian Harbert (Alice), as well as her cherished grandchildren: Jake Harbert, Jason Harbert, David Harbert, Rachel Daly (Jon), and Ryan Harbert (Katie). Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Ronan Harbert, Serena Daly, Scarlett Daly, and Trip Daly, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her brothers, Alan Hagen and Carl Hagen, along with several nieces and nephews, who carry forward her spirit and love.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents Dewitt and Ruby Wilson Hagen, husband Harold Harbert, and nine siblings.

No services are planned at this time.

With a heart full of compassion and strength, Mary Lou touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly for her devotion to family and friends.
