Mary Louise Flynn-Ruiz, age 57, of Taylorsville, formerly of Newark, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21st at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC. She was born on May 29, 1955 in Pennsylvania to the late Maurice Paul and Louise June Flynn Cunningham. Mrs. Ruiz was a homemaker and attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC. She loved her family and reading her Bible. Including her parents, those that precede her in death include two siblings - Francis Edward Flynn and Richard Paul Cunningham and her stepfather, Phillip Earl Freeman. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 39 years, Elmo W. Ruiz Jr. of the home; two sons - Elmo William Ruiz III and wife Dennise, of Newark, NJ and Michael Edward Ruiz and (Jessica York), of Taylorsville; three daughters - Lacinda Marie and husband Edwin Melendez, of Stony Point, NC; Cristina Louise and husband Carlos Colon and Jacqueline and husband Edwin Perez, both of Newark, NJ; twelve grandchildren; one sister - Barbara Campbell, of Taylorsville, NC and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Service will follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
