Mary “Mildred” Russell Dagenhart, 89, of Taylorsville, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Hospital in Hickory. She was born in Alexander County on June 2, 1921 to the late Parks and Della Davis Russell. Mildred had retired from Hafer Hosiery Mills as a Looper, and was a Hazel Keller cosmetic representative for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Taylorsville and enjoyed preparing delicious meals. Mrs. Dagenhart is survived by her husband, Lee Dagenhart of the home; one son Jack Dagenhart, a sister, Betty Sue Wike and husband, Sam; all of Taylorsville. One brother Keith Russell and wife, Doris of Statesville; Two granddaughters Erica Dagenhart of Taylorsville, and Courtney Dagenhart of Durham, NC. One great-grandson Alex Gorupic of Hickory. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Don Russell and two sisters Pauline St. Clair and Gladys Brown. Visitation for Mrs. Dagenhart will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at First Baptist Church; from 2:00-3:15 pm. with Funeral Services beginning at 3:30 pm. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tim Marsh will be officiating. Alexander Funeral Service is serving the Dagenhart family.
