Mary Elizabeth Barlowe Orren

Mary Elizabeth Barlowe Orren, age 91, of Stony Point went to her heavenly home on Monday July 3, 2017 at Valley Nursing Center. She was born on January 17, 1926 to the late Daniel Boone and Frances Daniels Barlowe. Before retirement, Mary worked as a finisher for Broyhill Furniture for 12 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend and cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary loved the Lord and going to church. Mary also enjoyed knitting and spending time with "Harley." She was a member at Stony Point Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: D. L. Orren; and brothers: Glenn Barlowe & James Edward Barlowe.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons: James Max Barlowe & Daniel Ray Orren, of Stony Point; her grandchildren: Tonya Cicione (Bill), of Virginia: Michell Orren (Steve Miller), of Granite Falls: Dana Vanessa Letterman (Shaffin), of Stony Point: Joel Barlowe, of Albermarle: & Sommer Shea Baucom (Tim), of Charlotte; her great-grandchild: Mariah Miller; and her two sisters: Evelyn Treadaway (Buster), of Hiddenite: & Marie Combs, of Stony Point.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm at Stony Point Baptist Church and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Rick Norman officiating. Burial will follow at Taylorsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Murray Walker, Steve Miller, Shaffin Letterman, Tim Baucom, and Gerald Fox.
