Mary “Juanita” Crisp Stikeleather, 74, of Stony Point, went to her heavenly home with her loved ones by her side on April 7, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Juanita was born on June 12, 1950, in Iredell County, to the late Charles “Claude” Crisp and Mary Helen Brown Ingram. She attended school at Stony Point High School and retired from Carolina Mills in Statesville. She was a faithful member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Stony Point.
Juanita loved gospel music, watching Law & Order, and traveling to Harrah’s Cherokee with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with her children, and especially her grandchildren who were “the best in the world” as she said shortly before her passing. She loved cooking for holiday gatherings, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter for her family, and wanted to be sure everyone had their bellies full. Juanita had a heart as big as her smile. Without hesitation, she always went out of her way for those she cared about.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Crisp and two infant brothers; as well as her sister, Linda Crisp.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, Pete Stikeleather of the home; daughter Robin Stikeleather (Paul) of Stony Point; son Buck Stikeleather (Penny) of Stony Point; a special nephew whom she loved and raised as her son, Matthew Crisp of Stony Point; grandchildren Dylan, Adam and Tabby all of Stony Point; brother, Donnie Ingram of Stony Point; brother David Ingram of Hiddenite; a special niece, Amy Gorley of Hiddenite. Along with many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Stony Point on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 3:30 pm with Rev. Chuck Hager officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm with the service following. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
