Maudie Parsons Horton

Maudie Parsons Horton, age 88, passed away Friday, October 21,2022, in Alexander County. Ms. Horton was born to the late Robert Parsons and Ada Howell Parsons on July 23, 1934, in Alexander County. Ms. Horton was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. Maudie enjoyed flowers, knitting, sewing, and cooking.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her spouse Luther Horton, infant son, stepmother Ruth Parsons, brothers Ned, Ross, Rance, John and Willie Parsons. Sisters Lucy Evans, Virginia Parsons, and Barbara Millsaps.

Those left to cherish the memories of Maudie include her daughters Darlene Horton, Willis Horton, Gail Miller (John) and Son Billy Horton (Brenda). Brothers, John William, Robert Parsons (Magdalene), Douglas Parsons (Lisa), and Gary Parsons. Sisters, Rachel Millsaps (James), Carolyn Lineberger, Celia Teague (Samford), Mary Bell Moore and Pamela Lineberger. Grandchildren, Joseph Miller, and Abagail Miller.

Visitation will be held Sunday October 23, 2022, at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday October 24, 2022, at St. John Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Rev. T.E. Martin and Rev. James Millsaps will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. John Baptist Church Building Fund, 224 Hollow Ln. Taylorsville NC 28681.
