MeLinda Ann Parsons Jackson, age 52, of Moon Lane, Taylorsville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was in declining health for a number of years. She was born October 7, 1965 to the late Ned and Edna Parsons. MeLinda was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church and was known for loving her children and grandchildren more than anything else. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and a special niece Hannah Parsons.
She leaves to cherish her memories a husband of 38 years Freddie Jackson; four sons Patrick Parsons, Brandon (Holly) Parsons, Preston Jackson, and Freddie Jr. (Amanda) Jackson all of Taylorsville; stepson Shawn Derr of Maryland; a special niece she thought of as her only daughter Tia King; eighteen grandchildren; sister Janice (William) King of Hickory; special cousin who she thought of as another sister Tanya Horton of Taylorsville; three brothers Tony (Denise) Parsons of North Wilkesboro, Barry (Trish) Parsons, and Anthony (Tiffany) Parsons of Taylorsville; three aunts Beulah (Henry) Parsons, Lula Bell Carlton of Lenoir, and Debra Parsons of North Wilkesboro; her in-laws Sally Whitener of Hickory who was special to her; Ann Brooks and Gwen William of Cherryville; Sharon Blake, Robin Daye, and Marlene Dillard of Lincolnton; Elizabeth Jackson of Florida; and Martha Jackson, Emma Lewis, Robert Jackson, and Leon Jackson all of New Jersey.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at St. John’s Baptist Church. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Baptist Church Cemetery.
