Melissa “Lisser” Nicole St. Clair, age 32, of Granite Falls, went to meet her Lord on Thursday, February 17th, 2011. She was born on March 27th, 1978 in Alexander County to parents Roger A. and Shelia Smith St. Clair of Taylorsville. She resided at the Laurel St. ResCare where she was cared for by her special family, Raye Woodbury and other staff members. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Phillip R. Smith; paternal grandfather, Howard F. St. Clair; maternal uncle, Boyd Parker; and a paternal aunt and uncle, Nancy A. and Timothy St. Clair. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Marcine P. Smith; paternal grandmother, Joyce Lowe St. Clair; 3 sisters: Vivian St. Clair Bolick of the Sugar Loaf community, Misty St. Clair Kiss & husband Vernon of Stony Point, & Tracy St. Clair Estes & husband Van – also of Stony Point. She has 4 nephews: Travis St. Clair & fiancé Whitney Sloan, Sage Estes, Cody Kiss, & Uriah Estes; 4 nieces: Kindell Estes, Cheyenne St. Clair, Ruby Estes, & Abigail Estes; 3 special nephews: Grayson Elder, Brandon Lichty, & Michael Runyon; as well as numerous Aunts & Uncles. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 21st, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service. No formal services are planned. Melissa’s memorial book will be available to sign through Tuesday, February 22nd, at Alexander Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley @ 3935 Robinson Rd, Newton, 28658 – for the excellent care they gave to Melissa during her final hours.
