Melissa Van Cooney,

Melissa Marie "Missy" Van Cooney, age 49 of Taylorsville, passed unexpectedly at her home on Monday, October 13, 2014. Missy was born August 10, 1965 in Charleston, SC to Stephanie Anne Felkel and the late John Edward Van Cooney.  She enjoyed cooking and flower gardening.  Those remaining to cherish her memory are four children:  Jonathan Charles Roark, Christina Marie Blevins, Dustin Lee Johnson, and Paul Holland Cockeran III; one grandson-Hunter Lee Parks; three sisters; Deborah Hunt, Tammy Walling, and Kathryn Beasley; two brothers:  Chad Strohecker and Jason Stephens.  She also leaves behind one aunt-Rose Johnson.  A memorial service will be held for Ms. Van Cooney on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 3:00pm at Alexander Funeral Service.
