Michael Steve Fox

Michael Steve Fox of Creston, NC, age 74, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was born to the late Carl James Fox and Hattie Bell Bentley Fox on June 29, 1949. Michael retired from Duke Power after many years of service. He loved to read, watch western movies, listen to bluegrass and old country music. He also enjoyed antique cars and watching sports. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his former spouse and mother of his children, Linda Canter Fox; sister, Blanche Fox, infant sister, Colleen Fox, brothers, Graydon Fox, Arnold Fox, daughter, Melissa Matheson.

Those left to cherish the memories of Michael include his children, Greg Fox (Teresa), Michelle Laws (Canavan), Sherry Crotts (Steve) all of Taylorsville; brother, Marshall Fox of Creston, NC; grandchildren, Corey Matheson (Katie), Codey Matheson, Ryan Crotts, Brianna Fox, McKenna Crotts, Dylan Fox (Caitlin), Colton Laws, Emma Laws; honorary god-granddaughter, Kaity Sparks; and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2024, at Rocky Face Baptist Church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be Friday, March 29, 2024, at Rocky Face Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Liledoun Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ryan Hodges will officiate. Steve Crotts, Canavan Laws, Corey Matheson, Ryan Crotts, Dylan Fox, and Colton Laws will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Roger Blankenship.

The family will accept flowers.
