Michael "Mike" Lynn Deal

Michael “Mike” Lynn Deal, age 69, of Taylorsville, passed away in Caldwell Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 28, 2017. Born in Alexander county to the late Marcus Buford and Ora Annabelle Pennell Deal, on Dec. 27, 1948, he was a graduate of Wilkes Community College and a supervisor for Broyhill Furniture in Taylorsville, before his retirement. Mike was a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church. He was a rabid fan of the NY Yankees, Duke, and Dallas Cowboys. He also was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Marlene Spainhour.
He is survived by his only daughter, Lisa Byrd Lozano of Taylorsville, along with two grandsons Loren Byrd of Asheville and Adam Lozano of Newton. He will be fondly remembered by two sisters, Christine Hutchins of Winston-Salem and Mildred Keller of Hickory. Mike grew up with four nephews who survive, Jimmy and Jeff Keller of Hickory and Scott and Greg Hutchins of Winston Salem, with a niece Andrea Soots of Winston-Salem. Mike had a special friend, Dewayne Deal, who was close during his declining years.
Graveside committal services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Black Oak Church Road, Taylorsville with the Rev. Gary Jennings officiating . The family will receive friends at the graveside, following the service.
