Mildred Brookshire Chapman, age 89, of Taylorsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 6th, 2011 at Valley Nursing Center. She was born in Alexander County on January 24, 1922 to parents Winford C. and Ida W. Brookshire. She was a member of ThreeForksBaptistChurchwhere she had served as church secretary many years ago. She also had a passion for baking and sharing those goods with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Hall Chapman; a son, Hall Dean Chapman; a grandson, Ricky Chapman, and two brothers, C.W. and Cloyd Brookshire. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Gayle Walker and husband Dwight, and Janet Robinson and husband Larry. One Daughter-in-law, Orala Chapman. Grandchildren include Jennifer and Dustin Queen, Nathan and Leah Robinson, Deana and Cy Cowart, Stephen Walker, Andrea and Bryan Sherrill, Cathy Chapman, and Joey Zapata. Great Grandchildren are Haley, Wade, and Eli Queen, Kristian and Isabelle Cox, Cohen and Kingston Sherrill, Rickey Chapman, Jr., Hall Dean Chapman II, Misty Chapman, Brittany Chapman, and Baby Robinson – due in August. Also surviving are thirteen Great-Great Grandchildren; one sister, Nelle Dagenhart; one Sister-in-Law, Ann Brookshire, and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Chapman will be held at ThreeForksBaptistChurchon Saturday, July 9 from 1:00-3:00 pm with Funeral Services to begin at 3:00 pm. Rev. Carson Mosley and Rev. Steve Dagenhart will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Nathan Robinson, Dustin Queen, Stephen Walker, Joey Zapata, Bill Chapman, and Gray Brookshire will serve as pallbearers.
