Mildred Marie Miller,

Mildred Marie Burgess Miller, 86, of Indiana, PA and formerly of Taylorsville, NC, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Village in Indiana, PA.  She was born February 15, 1924, in Taylorsville, NC, daughter of William Edgar Burgess and Julia Brown Burgess.  She had been employed at the Northwestern Bank in Taylorsville.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gideon Jethro Miller, Jr., and a brother, James Lynn Burgess. She was a member of Taylorsville First Baptist Church, having sung in the choir many years.  Mildred never missed a day of school, having perfect attendance certificates for every year until she graduated.  She was a kind, compassionate friend to many.  Survivors include her only child, Joan Elaine Miller; a sister, Alma Sue Blackstock of Granite Falls, NC; two brothers, Maurice Burgess of Pelzer, SC, and Harold Burgess of Rio Rancho. NM.  A memorial service will be conducted in the future.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the First Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 305, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
