Morene Hollar Travis

Ms. Morene Hollar Travis, age 87, of Claremont, passed away on Wednesday, April 17,2019 at her residence. Born to Clarence C. and Winnie Raby Hollar, she was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and had been an employee of Lexington Furniture as a supervisor. Morene enjoyed working in her flower beds, going to flea markets, trips to the beach and spending time with her family and especially her grand-children. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Travis and brothers Bill and Daryl “Dean” Hollar.
Ms. Travis is survived by two daughters, Jane Travis and Ron of Jacksonville, Fla. and Stacey Lail and Bradley of Claremont. Three grandchildren: Cheryl Teague, of Conover as well as Keegan and Sierra Lail, both of Claremont, two great- grandchildren, Noniah and Jaracah Teague of Conover, one great- great- grandchild Ocean Teague of Conover, three nephews: Greg, Gary and Rodney Hollar, and one niece, Penny Hollar Williams.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, from 2:30-3:30 at St. Peter’s Lutheran with services following with Rev. Kevin Graudin and Rev.Eric Hauss officiating. Burial will be in the in the church cemetery.
