Nancy Deanna Connolly,

Nancy Deanna Connolly, age 75 of the Hiddenite community passed away at Gordon Hospice House - Statesville on Saturday Morning, February 1, 2014.  She was born to the late Mack Irvin and Ethel Eugenia (Mays) Little in McDowell County, NC on October 7, 1938.  Prior to retirement, Deanna had worked as a sander in the furniture industry.  She was an avid reader and in her spare time she loved to visit with people, fish, camp, play games, and if someone came by and wanted to go, she was always ready and eager to travel. Deanna was a member of Fairview Baptist Church - Hiddenite.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son - Robert Keith Connolly; one brother - Charles Little; and one sister - Willena Harkey.
Those remaining to cherish her memories are her husband of 59 years - Junie Connolly of the home.  One daughter - Janet Shaver and husband Wayne.  Two sons - James Irvin Connolly and wife Debra and Christopher Allen Connolly and wife Vickie.  Seven grandchildren - Melissa Poteat and husband Andy; David Connolly, Jessica Connolly, Jamie Fox and husband Heath; Erin Huffman and husband Chris, Stacy Connolly, and Ben Johnson.  There are eight great-grandchildren.  Included are also two brothers -  Creel Little and wife Karen,; Dale Little and wife Cathy; and three sisters - Mary Alice Mayberry and husband Leo; Patsy Warren and husband Rodney; and Marilyn London.  She also leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Visitation for Mrs. Connolly will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Fairview Baptist Church Fellowship Hall- Hiddenite with Rev. Ruel Fox and Rev. Heath Fox will officiate.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
Grandsons and Mr. Junie Connolly's Sunday School class will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice House @ 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC  28625.
