Nancy  Huitt Childers, 86 of Taylorsville passed away at Forsyth Palliative Care on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. She was born to the late Charles Craig and Eunice Belle Henderson Huitt on Monday, April 30, 1928. She was a homemaker and her grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy. She was charter member of  Reformation Lutheran Church. She also served on the Church's 50th anniversary planning committee.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Walter Columbus Childers Jr, and a daughter Cynthia Warren, Three sisters, Edith Arndt, Rachel Patterson, Charlie Belle Winters, and one brother J.H.C. Huitt also preceded her.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Craig Childers and wife Brenda of Taylorsville, and Jerry Childers and wife Patti of Clemmons, North Carolina. One son-in-law, Gary Warren of Taylorsville, six grandchildren, Angela Anderson and husband Ed of Hickory, Jennifer Clark and husband Jimmy, Amanda Childers, Curtis Childers all of Taylorsville, Jason Childers and wife Ashley of Advance, North Carolina, Philip Childers and wife Brittney of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Nancy also had eleven great grandchildren, Noah, Lauren, Rachel, Grayson, Garrett, Maddie, Cole, Elli, Jase, Levi, and Emery, several neices and one nephew.

The family would like to thank caregivers; Sharon Pennell, Renda Starnes, Carmen Brookeshire, and a special neice and caregiver Myra Patterson.

Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 pm Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Reformation Lutheran Church fellowship hall. The funeral will follow in the church sanctuary at 3:00 pm. Rev. Craig Sigmon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Taylorsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curtis, Jason, and Philip Childers, Ed Anderson, Jimmy Clark, Joey Simmons, Noah Matheson, and Tim Jolly.
