Ned Barnes,

Ned David Barnes, 75, of Taylorsville, passed away Friday July 23, 2010, after a courageous battle with Cancer.  Born March 17, 1935, in Alexander County he was the son of the late David C. Barnes and Cecil Robinette Barnes.  Ned and his wife, Kaye were blessed with 41 years of marriage.  He was an Army veteran and a retired truck driver.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Kaye White Barnes of the home; two daughters, Marla B. Winkler and husband Monte of Taylorsville and Trisa B. Barnes and husband Brandon of Hickory, NC; three grandsons Logan Barnes of Taylorsville, Tristan and Tucker Barnes of Hickory; one brother of Arlington TX, Walter H. (Herb) Barnes and wife Hazel, three sisters Angelle B. Welborn and husband Willie of Thomasville, NC; Ruth B. Wike and husband Waitsel of Taylorsville, and Sue B. Stiff and husband George of Charlotte, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.  The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 – 3:45 on Monday, July 26th at East Taylorsville Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC.  A memorial service will be held Monday, July 26, 2010 at 4:00 PM in the Church sanctuary.  Memorials may be made to the Hospice Center of Alexander County.  Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service has been entrusted with arrangements for the Barnes Family.
