Ned Thomas Davis,

Ned Thomas Davis, age 78, of Granite Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at his residence under hospice care. He was born on May 6, 1936 in Alexander County to the late James Fred Davis and Eula Mae Moretz Davis. Ned served in the US Air Force and attended Oakwood Baptist Church. He retired from General Electric after 37 years of service. Ned was very involved in church, where he was a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Coleen Davis; his only son: Thomas Scott Davis; brothers: Kern Davis, Jerry Davis, and Brent Davis; and sisters: Evelyn Carrigan, and Doris Keener. Those left to cherish his memory include granddaughter: Deanna Iliano and husband, Anthony, of SC; sister: Meryl Bostain; special nephew: Derek Carrigan; special niece: Dale Terry; and a host of other family members.



The family will receive friends Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm at the chapel with the Rev.
