Nell Rose Moose Kerley, 83, of Taylorsville was called to her Heavenly home on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Catawba Valley Medical Center, after a short illness. Born December 23, 1933 in Alexander County, she was the daughter of the late James Butler and Sarah Doll Childers Moose. A member of Three Forks Baptist Church, she retired from First Baptist Development Center in Taylorsville in 1996, after 25 years of service to the families and children in her care. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Don D. Kerley, three brothers, William (Bill) Moose, Harold Moose, and Ned Moose, and a grandson, Michael Gregory Kerley.
Survivors include her son, David Michael Kerley (Denise) of Taylorsville; a grandson, James Matthew Kerley of Washington, NC; a sister, Clara Sipe of Taylorsville; a sister-in-law, Dora White of Elizabethton, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Three Forks Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Carson Moseley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658, or to Three Forks Baptist Church, 4685 Three Forks Church Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
