Nora Daniels Mitchell,

Nora Mae Daniels Mitchell, age 101, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Valley Nursing Center. She was born on April 7, 1913 in Alexander County to the late Eli Daniels and Amanda Phillips Daniels. Nora was retired from Bassett Furniture and she attended Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and was an awesome cook. Nora also loved her family and helping others. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Maurice Reid Mitchell; sisters: Laura Williams and husband, Tracy of Seattle, WA, Paralee Daniels and husband, Clarence, of Taylorsville, Florence Johnson and husband, Lee, of Winston-Salem, Emma Daniels of Taylorsville, and Lona Daniels of Taylorsville; brother: John Daniels of Taylorsville; and sister-in-law: Rosa Lee Mitchell of Stockbridge, GA. Those left to cherish her memory include sons: Johnny Maurice Mitchell and wife, Dot, of Gaffney, SC, and Hall Mitchell of Stockbridge, GA; daughter: Carol Land and husband, Jerry, of Taylorsville; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Visitation will be Thursday, August 7,  2014 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with the Rev. Alan Fox and Rev. Rick Safriet officiating. Burial will follow at Linney's Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers include Blake Daniels, Bernie Daniels, Brett Daniels, and Burt Daniels.
