Ollie Mae Benfield,

Ollie Mae Benfield, age 88, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, December 1st, 2011.  She was born in Caldwell County on April 23rd, 1923 to parents Tom and Arsie Benfield Lackey.  She enjoyed baking and cooking.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sard Leroy Benfield; son, Perry Lee Benfield; daughter, Colleen Davis; and 2 grandchildren: Rocky Leray Benfield, and Christopher Todd Benfield.  Those left to cherish her memory include her 2 daughters: JoAnn Seitz of Raleigh, and Beulah Price and husband Owen of Taylorsville; 3 sons: Larry Benfield and wife Kathy of Statesville, John Benfield of Taylorsville, and Danny Benfield – also of Taylorsville.  She also leaves behind a son-in-law, Ned Davis of Granite Falls, in addition to 17 Grandchildren and 22 Great-Grandchildren.  Visitation will be conducted on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 at Alexander Funeral Service from 12:30 – 1:45 P.M.  Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. inside the Alexander Funeral Chapel where Rev. Stoney Benfield will officiate.  Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.   Gregory Seitz, Todd Price, Rodney Price, Shawn Benfield, Sean Benfield, and Michael Benfield will serve as pallbearers, while Kyle Seitz and Les Seitz will serve as honoraries.  In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba Valley Hospice @ 3974 Robinson Road.  Newton, NC  28658.  Alexander Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
