Palmetto Maxine Harrington,

Palmetto Maxine Harrington, age 87, of Taylorsville, passed away in Valley Nursing in Taylorsville, on Friday, April 17, 2015. Born to the late Roby and Dora Jane Harrington Daniels, in Alexander County, she was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was employed by Hedrick's of Statesville, as well as Lewittes and Broyhill Furniture Companies, having retired from Broyhill. Her family will remember her for her cooking and canning, quilting, and being a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Harrington Sr., three grandsons Derrek Gentle, Allen Harrington, and Jacob Deal. Maxine was also preceded by eight brothers and one sister.

She is survived by seven children: Harvey Harrington Jr., Pat Deal, Barbara Gentle and husband, Garry, Danny Harrington, and wife Jo Ann, Shorty Harrington, Kathy Lackey, and Lanny Harrington and wife Jamie, all of Taylorsville. There are six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church from 2-3:00 p..m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015, with funeral services, at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Don Ingle, Rev. Brent Harrington, and Rev. Chris Goforth will officiate. Pallbearers are Josh, Ashley, Todd, Brent, Kenny, and James Harrinton, as well as Kevin Gentle, Benny and Freddie Mitchell. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
