Patricia Ann Rhyne Fox

Patricia Ann Rhyne Fox, age 87, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at her home in Alexander County. She was born on Wednesday, April 13, 1937, in Alexander County to the late O.A. Rhyne and Ann R. Harris. Pat was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was always there when her family needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She was a friend to many in her neighborhood, church, and workplace. Pat was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church and was a member of the church choir for many years. She also taught Sunday School and was very active in numerous church activities and groups. Pat was also a member of the Alexander Singing Seniors.

Pat loved to travel and was about to visit 48 out of the 50 United States. She loved sports and was a loyal Carolina Tarheel basketball fan. Her favorite baseball team was the New York Yankees. Many evenings you could find her watching ACC basketball and Major League baseball games.

Years before her retirement, she coached recreation softball teams and was also very active in the Ellendale Recreation Club. She devoted many hours to organizing and working on a committee to plan and develop recreation ball fields at the Ellendale Community Building. She loved seeing the community grow and provide opportunities for its members and young people to succeed in their athletic dreams. Pat volunteered with Alexander County Schools at Ellendale and Wittenburg Elementary Schools, and at Alexander Central High School in the Booster Club.

Pat is survived by her husband of 65 years Mack H. Fox, her daughter, Tammy and Lee Hines, son, Patrick R. Fox all of Taylorsville. She had one grandson, Zachary J. Deal and wife Lauren, four great-grandsons, Samuel, Silas, Stephen, and Seth Deal of Stony Point. She had one brother, Lannie Rhyne and wife Eunice of Stony Point. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and many dear friends

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Mt. Herman Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Rev. Paul Schronce and Pastor Zachary Deal will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alexander Hospice, 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
