Paul Franklin Blosser, age 79, born on Tuesday, July 24, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Taylorsville House in Alexander County, North Carolina. He was a beloved father and grandfather. He was a dedicated music teacher who started serving the Alexander County Schools as a band director at East Alexander Middle School in 1989 and served in many other positions until his retirement.
A proud graduate of Fairmont State University, Paul was not only passionate about music but also a devoted member of the Christian community. He was a choir leader for several churches in West Virginia and North Carolina, where he embraced his faith and shared his love for music. Known for his exceptional talent with brass instruments, Paul continually inspired those around him, always striving to bring out the best in everyone and perfecting their musical abilities.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Paul had a zest for life that was evident in his love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, relishing the beauty of nature. His involvement with the Masons and Shriners highlighted his commitment to serving others and his strong sense of community.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Erin Blosser; and his stepson, Jerod Harman (Tracy Bowser); his grandchildren, Sadie and Saylor; and many extended family members.
He was predeceased by his wife of 18 years, Carolyn Hinkle Blosser, and his parents, Carl Franklin and Evelyn Montgomery Blosser.
Mr. Blosser will lie-in-state on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service, located at 193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Weston Masonic Cemetery, on Old Route 33, Weston, WV 26452. Pastor Tim Lewis will officiate.

Paul Franklin Blosser leaves behind a legacy of music, faith, and service that will be cherished by all who knew him. His contributions to the lives of students, his colleagues, and his community will be remembered fondly as we celebrate a life well-lived.
