Paul Bowman, age 78 of Bethlehem passed away at Frye Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He was born to the late Lindsey McCree and Fleta Grace Honeycutt Bowman on Monday, May 1, 1936 in Alexander County. Paul was a lifetime member of Shiloh Lutheran Church. Everyone who knew Paul knows he could build just about anything, from a house to a bird house. Before he became ill you would find him always building something in his woodshop. He loved nature and enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors especially bird watching and planting a garden. Neighbors always received a friendly wave from Paul as he loved to sit on his porch.
In addition to his parents Paul was preceded in death by his brother Leo Bowman, and his sister Kathleen Wooten.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years Margie Lail Bowman, his son Lindsey Bowman of Dudley Shoals, his two daughters Tammy Bolick and husband Allen of Granite Falls, Trudy Henricks and husband Bob of Mount Holly, three sisters Mary Little and husband Junior, Ruby Warren and husband Ralph, Rachel Church, one brother Alton Bowman and wife Peggy, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a number of neices and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Pisgah cemetery in Bethlehem at 11am on Friday, April 24, 2015. The family will receive friends at the home following the graveside service. In addition to flowers memorials can be made to Shiloh Lutheran Church roof fund at 1011 Shiloh Church Rd Hickory, NC 28601
